About Conjure Hand
Conjure Hand is Canadian Rock inspired by the blues and soul of the 1970s.
Lyrically the band takes the listener on a journey of Black history and lower class struggles
throughout the Americas.
With songs that are reminiscent of diverse bands like The Allman Brothers,
Thin Lizzy, and Free. Conjure Hand hopes to resurrect the soul of rock and roll.
"Conjure Hand" is influenced by the ancient voodoo cultures of the
African Diaspora and their subsequent influences on the African-American and Caribbean
Slaves of the Americas.
Coming from tribes such as the Azande fom South Sudan
pictured here, These traditions were and still are an essential tool to fight oppression and
enslavement throughout new world.
It's importance is evident in blues classics such as
Lightnin' Hopkins "Mojo Hand", and rock masterpieces like Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child"
