Band Bio (Long)
Conjure Hand is Canadian Rock inspired by the blues and soul of the 1970s.
Lyrically, the band takes the listener on a journey of Black history and lower class struggles throughout the Americas.
The band is influenced by the ancient voodoo cultures of the African Diaspora and their subsequent influences on the African-American and Caribbean Slaves of the Americas. Traditions like voodoo were essential tools of resistance to oppression and enslavement throughout the new world. Blues classics (such as Lightnin' Hopkins "Mojo Hand") and rock masterpieces (like Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child") have been cultural carriers of the African Diaspora’s history, and Conjure Hand bears that responsibility with declarations of resistance and truth.
Conjure Hand is backed by Black Caesar and The Shah on Lead Guitars, Victor as bass player, Vincent Dupuis as the keys player and Duncan Chisholm as the drummer.
